CAGE NN works with Schools, Colleges and employers to inspire young recruits into the Construction Industry. The activities of CAGE raise awareness about the need for future professionals and technicians, as well as craft and manual operatives, in the industry and makes a special effort to support school links.
Our mission is to become the main employer link between education and the employment service providers for recruitment and training in the construction industry in North Nottinghamshire.
The services offered by the Group have increased significantly since we gained independent training group status in early 2001 (the Group remains a non-profit-making organisation, funded by CITB-ConstructionSkills); rather than just training, we now offer support and guidance on a growing number of business and construction issues.
Three strong objectives that have been reiterated over the last few years are:
- to recruit more companies to the training process and assist them to that end;
- to continue to enthuse and support youngsters into the industry by working with the schools and ConstructionSkills;
- to increase the quality of recruits into the industry both craft and technically skilled.
To ensure the longevity of our industry and our companies all three of these are essential.
I am sure you will agree that when resources are tight we must ensure that any time and money spent on any form of training and recruitment must yield maximum rewards for our businesses.
